Prerequisites

Before integrating the controller with Kiwire, it is necessary that the controller and access point:

are connected to the Internet

are reachable on the network
-
have an IP address assigned to the a through DHCP or static
Note:

Kiwire-hostname or Kiwire-ip can be obtain by contacting our technical support for our cloud customer. For enterprise client the ip will be on premises Kiwire ip address.

Part 1: Cambium cnMaestro configuration

Login to your Cambium cnMaestro controller

Go to WLANs > Configuration > AAA Servers

Authentication Server

Host: Kiwire-hostname or Kiwire-Ip

Secret: create a secret pass phrase

Port: 1812

UBNT wireless controller for Kiwire hotspot
UBNT Controller Configuration

1. Wireless setting
a) Go to Settings > Wireless Network.
b) Create new SSID and apply Guest Policy.

2. Radius setting
a) Go to Settings > Profiles.
b) create new Radius Profile.
c) Profile name → Kiwire
d) Enable radius assign vlan for wired network → enable
e) Enable radius assign vlan for wireless network → enable
f) Radius auth server Ip address → Kiwire ip
g) Radius auth server Port → 1812
h) Shared secret → assign a secret key to be use between your controller and Kiwire
i) Accounting → enabled
j) Interim update → enable
k) Interim update interval → 1800
l) ip address → Kiwire ip
m) Port → 1812
n) Shared secret → assign a secret key to be use between your controller and Kiwire

3. Guest control
a) Go to Settings > Guest Control,
b) enable the guest policy with authentication → enable
c) Authentication → using hotspot.
d) Landing page → redirect to the original URL.
e) Enable the RADIUS-based authorization under the hotspot.
f) Use the profile that we already created
g) Select PAP for the authentication type
h) enable the Disconnect Request with receiver port 3798.
4. Wallgarden

a) Add the walled garden IP list under the Pre-Authorization Access.
1. Bandwidth control
​
a) To enable the bandwidth capping, limit the bandwidth under User Groups.
2. Redirect file
​
a) Edit the index.html file inside the UBNT controller files located under “/opt//data/sites///index.html” with the sample code below.
Connected user
​
To view the list of connected users from the UBNT controller, open the Hotspot Manager and go to Guest Panel.
