Prerequisites

Before integrating the controller with Kiwire, it is necessary that the controller and access point:

are connected to the Internet

are reachable on the network
-
have an IP address assigned to the a through DHCP or static
Note:

Kiwire-hostname or Kiwire-ip can be obtain by contacting our technical support for our cloud customer. For enterprise client the ip will be on premises Kiwire ip address.

Part 1: Cambium cnMaestro configuration

Login to your Cambium cnMaestro controller

Go to WLANs > Configuration > AAA Servers
-
Authentication Server
-
Host: Kiwire-hostname or Kiwire-Ip

Secret: create a secret pass phrase
-
Port: 1812
-
Timeout: 3 seconds

Attempts: 1

Accounting Server
-
Host: Kiwire-hostname or Kiwire-ip

Secret: secret same as authentication server

Port: 1813

Timeout: 3 seconds

Attempts: 1

Accounting Mode: Start-Interim-Stop

Cambium cnPilot E400 Device Configuration for Kiwire
1. Login to your cnPilot E400 admin panel.

Go to Configure-WLAN tab to setup your hotspot networks

Go to Basic tab to setup and enable the SSID
2. Go to Radius Server tab to configure the radius server which is Kiwire.

Set configuration as below details and leave others as default
-
Authentication Server 1 Host: Kiwire IP address
-
Authentication Server 1 Secret: insert a key and must be the same as Kiwire shared secret key
-
Authentication Server 1 Port: 1812
-
Accounting Server 1 Host: Kiwire IP address
-
Accounting Server 1 Secret: same as Authentication Server 1 Secret
-
Accounting Server 1 Port: 1813
-
Accounting Mode: start-interim-stop
-
NAS Identifier: AP MAC Address (must matched with Kiwire IDENTITY ID)

Dynamic Authorization: Enable
3. Next, go to Guest Access tab to configure the captive portal settings.

Set configuration as below and leave others as default.

Enable: ticked

Portal Mode: External Hotspot

Access Policy: Radius
-
Redirect Mode: HTTP
-
External Page URL: http://kiwire-ip/login/cambium

Success Action: Redirect user to Original URL

4. Kiwire Configuration → Open your web browser → type in http://kiwire-ip/admin to access your Kiwire dashboard.
5. Go to Devices→Devices
6. Click Add Devices
7. Insert the details as below:

Device Type → Controller
-
Vendor → Cambium
-
Identity → MAC Address of Cambium AP (AA-BB-CC-DD-EE-FF)
-
IP Address → Cambium AP IP Address
-
Username → Username of Cambium AP
-
Password→Password of Cambium AP
-
Address → Cambium AP location
-
Shared Secret Key → Must same as secret from Cambium AP Secret

COA Port→Any port
-
Description → Remark of Cambium AP
-
Monitoring Method → None
-
Community → Leave blank
-
SNMP Version → Leave blank
-
MIB → Leave blank
8. Next, we go to Devices→Zones Mapping to assign which zone we want to assign login page.

We can assign zone based on CONTROLLER ID, VLAN ID, IP ADDRESS or SSID

Create a new zone by clicking Add Zone

Put a name to it, Link to User and Limit Connected User can be empty
-
Choose Journey
-
Enable the status
9. Configuration is now complete. You have completed the configuration of both Kiwire and Cambium
